A Central Otago Celebration of Beethoven’s 250th birthday
To celebrate Beethoven’s 250th birthday, highly-regarded NZ violinist Justine Cormack joins with American pianist Kate Boyd to perform the entire cycle of Beethoven’s violin sonatas over three concerts, in three Central Otago venues. Each of the ten sonatas is a unique gem and the full cycle is a powerful way to intimately experience both Beethoven’s compositional evolution as well as his unquestionable creative genius.
The concerts have been structured to be enjoyed as stand-alone performances, but don’t miss this rare opportunity to experience the magnificence of the entire cycle over three mid-summer Central Otago evenings.
Programme for Cromwell:
Sonata no. 1 in D major, op. 12, no. 1
Sonata no. 6 in A major, op. 30, no. 1
